Or, just last week, before drawing some images (for a video presentation) I switched into mind-mode and visualized how Id draw a heart or a glass of sparkling wine. If thats the case, one may practice in daylight, or use fluorescent or LED lighting, or even go really old-school and use candles or oil/kerosene lamps (which also add to the atmosphere if youre doing something occult). The more your practice the easier you can transition from an after-image to a controlled mental image. I also see colors when meditating. And that enabled me to create my own images without requiring any afterimages to trigger my imagination.
